We acclaim the literature of DIY in material culture in relation to the alienation of the residents of mass housing. As defined by Wikipedia the fact that there is a close relationship between DIY and the maker culture pushes us to investigate the DIY literature in relation to mass housing. There are many studies conducted on homemaking in socialist housing, in the Germany Democratic Republic (Stitziel, 2005), Bulgaria (Parusheva et al., 2010) and UK (Gregson et al., 2009), they associate homemaking as a form of consumption. These consumptions are defined with a variety of making activities such as sewing, maintenance, and repair. Attfield (1999) suggests that homemaking is a ‘vernacular’ interpretation of modernity. Considering this definition, we propose a digital fabrication attribute to the ‘vernacular interpretation’ of Climat de France’s residents to their ‘modernity’ against their alienation
